That's a wrap!

Hi there!

It's July 5th, and it's officially time for me… to take a break! 🎉

I started writing this newsletter last September, and wrote 45 issues since then.
It does not sound much, but that's actually a big amount of my Saturday time invested to write those little dataviz tips and tricks. ☺️
If you liked them, why not sharing them with a friend? Or even better, write me a little testimonial in 10 seconds.

What a Year!

Alongside my consulting work, I built a few tools that could help you:

🎮 A Dataviz Design Game
🎨 A Color Palette Picker
👀 Visual explanations of statistical concepts (p-value, r2)
🚀 Built 3 online courses (R, Matplotlib, Ggplot2)
🏆 Won a dataviz challenge
📊 Visualized the different types of data professionals
📝 Wrote hundreds of graph examples in R, Python, and D3.js
☀️ Created a quarto template

It's been busy, fun, and I hope it helped you a bit!

Thank You ❤️

This community has grown to 12,000 newsletter readers and 21,000 daily LinkedIn followers. For a niche topic like graph-building, I never expected that.

Even more amazing: you've been 1,500+ joining my online courses, which allows me to do this work full-time.
I've also received countless kind messages and testimonials. And honestly, that's what matters most.

So… thank you. Truly.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

What's Coming Next

I'm taking the summer to recharge, but here's a sneak peek at what's brewing:

🧭 Finish writing ggplot2 Uncharted with Cédric Scherer. It's really in-depth and thus takes time.

🖼️ Online Data Art Gallery. A passion project with Marthe Viallet I've wanted to create for years. If you're a data artist, I'd love to display your work!

🛠️ Portfolio Builder. A no-code tool to help you build a personal data portfolio (like mine) in minutes. Want to beta test? Just drop me an email!

How Can I Help You?

This is the part I care about most:

👉 Should I keep writing this newsletter?
👉 Should I focus more on tech? dataviz theory? career tips? or JavaScript?

I'm taking two months off to step back and think things through.
If you have feedback or ideas, I'd love to hear from you!

PS: If you need a passionate consultant for data analytics, web development, or dataviz I have availability from September onwards. Shoot me an email!

See you in September!
Yan
